In a thrilling announcement for Marvel fans, Prime Video and MGM+ have officially greenlit the live-action Spider-Man Noir series, titled “Noir,” with Nicolas Cage set to star. Cage, who previously voiced the character in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” will now bring the gritty superhero to life in a new dimension.
“Noir” will be helmed by Emmy Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer, known for his work on “Fleabag” and “Killing Eve.” The series will see Oren Uziel (“The Lost City,” “22 Jump Street”) and Steve Lightfoot (“Marvel’s The Punisher,” “Shantaram”) as co-showrunners and executive producers.

The story centers around an aging private investigator in 1930s New York, who is haunted by his past as the city’s lone superhero. This unique take on Spider-Man promises a blend of crime noir with superhero elements, offering a fresh perspective on the beloved character.
Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Amy Pascal, who were instrumental in the success of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” have also joined the project as executive producers, ensuring a high-quality adaptation that stays true to the character’s roots.
While the release date for “Noir” has not been announced, it will debut on MGM+ before becoming available globally on Prime Video.
This marks a significant expansion of the Marvel universe on streaming platforms, with Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, expressing excitement over Cage’s involvement and the opportunity to bring this series to a global audience.
Stay tuned for more updates as we eagerly await further details on this highly anticipated series.
