Sasha Calle, who plays Supergirl in “The Flash,” has met with DC Studio’s co-head, Peter Safran, to discuss her potential future in the DC Extended Universe (DCU). While nothing is official yet, Calle expressed her desire to continue portraying Supergirl in upcoming DCU projects. In “The Flash,” Barry Allen travels back in time, resulting in a version of Earth where the Justice League doesn’t exist. Calle’s Supergirl teams up with Michael Keaton’s Batman to help Barry navigate this altered timeline. Despite the film’s intention to reboot the DCEU, the exploration of the Multiverse leaves room for the return of certain cast members and characters. Calle hopes to continue her portrayal of Supergirl, stating her deep connection to the character. While an ending scene welcoming her to the main DCEU timeline was removed from “The Flash,” Calle’s performance received praise. With a Supergirl movie in development for the new DCU, Calle’s portrayal could continue in future projects.
