Paramount+ has released a new trailer for Avatar: Seven Havens, and the series will now open with its first three episodes on October 9. The show follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who learns she is the Avatar after Korra, as she and her long-lost twin sister Nisha try to survive a world broken by a cataclysm.
The three-episode launch answers a rollout question that has been open since San Diego Comic-Con. When the October 9 date was announced at the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender panel on July 23, IndieWire reported that all 26 episodes would drop at once. Variety ran the same claim, then updated its story that day to say the release plan was still being worked out, while The A.V. Club reported the first 13 episodes would land on premiere day. With three episodes arriving October 9, the remaining ten episodes of Book 1 follow after the premiere.
Seven Havens takes place in an era where the Avatar is feared. What remains of civilization lives inside seven strongholds, and the Avatar title brands Pavi as the person who will bring them down. Humans and spirits both hunt her. The first teaser in July opened on Korra in the Avatar State before cutting to the wrecked world Pavi grew up in.
Saheli Khan voices Pavi and Aishu Devan voices Nisha. Major Curda plays Jae, an Airbender who mentors Pavi and travels with the sisters. Akshay Khanna plays Karthik, Sakina Jaffrey plays Agam, Darren Barnet plays Daemin, and Dianne Doan plays Zi. Dee Bradley Baker voices Geet and Ruhi, the cat-monkey companions belonging to Pavi and Nisha.
Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko created the series and executive produce through Avatar Studios, with Ethan Spaulding as executive producer and Sehaj Sethi as co-executive producer. Alexandra Chiu is the supervising director. French studio La Chouette Compagnie provides the 2D animation, and DiMartino and Konietzko have named Moebius and 1990s anime as influences on the art direction. Jeremy Zuckerman, who scored The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, is composing the music.
Nickelodeon ordered Seven Havens in February 2025 as The Last Airbender hit its 20th anniversary, and the show was first expected in 2027. Its October 9 slot originally belonged to Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, the animated film Paramount moved up to a July 25 Paramount+ release after it leaked online. The series is built as two books of 13 half-hour episodes each, for 26 episodes total.
