The Marvel Cinematic Universe is heading for a major shakeup. In a new interview with Variety, Kevin Feige confirmed that Avengers: Secret Wars, set for 2027, won’t just wrap up the Multiverse Saga. It will act as a full reset for the franchise.
Since Iron Man kicked things off in 2008, the MCU has grown into an interconnected web of stories across more than 30 films and numerous Disney+ shows. That size has come at a cost. As Feige puts it, Marvel pushed out over 100 hours of content in just six years since Endgame. It was too much, too fast.
Now, Marvel is scaling back. Fewer shows. Fewer films. And Secret Wars will serve as the big reset button. Variety reports that this reset includes a new cast for the X-Men, signaling a clear shift into the next generation of Marvel storytelling. Think of it as Marvel’s version of turning the page.
