ELDRITCH BLUE #1, AN UNHINGED, ACTION, CRIME TALE FULL OF MONSTERS, WIZARDS, AND OUTCASTS. FROM THE DEMENTED MINDS OF JUSTIN COKE AND RACHEL DISTLER!

SWAT: ELDRITCH BLUE #1 is a stunningly drawn, exploration of fantasy tropes wrapped within a modern crime thriller. Justin Coke and Rachel Distler deliver a shrewd parody of the Harry Potter franchise, among other classic fantasy tales, with serious deep cuts and ingenious twists. SWAT: ELDRITCH BLUE #1, explodes upon Zoop this summer!

SWAT: ELDRITCH BLUE follows Larry- a down and out detective and former wizard who exists eerily familiar as an adult version of a certain famous boy-who-lived. He is a member of SWAT- the Secret Wizard Assault Team- a team of six outcasts tasked with missions that would make the SVU shit themselves. SWAT exists within the gritty shadows of our world, tasked with maintaining the Great Bargain, an agreement among monsters and men to exist by hunting quotas that limit the bloodshed that monsters may wreak upon society in exchange for not being hunted themselves by SWAT. It is a Devil’s bargain that enables an uneasy truce. A mere 300 humans may be killed every year. SWAT covers up these deaths and executes those monsters that seek more than their share. It is an awful, soul-crushing job, but someone has to do it. Right?

SWAT: ELDRITCH BLUE provides the type of dark humor, intelligent world building, and sharp parody that adults will love. Rachel Distler’s art is beautiful and adds depth to every page and perfectly complements Justin Coke’s wit and sarcasm. This comic will appeal to adult fans of fantasy and the Harry Potter franchise. The series will also capture the attention of indie comic book fans looking for something unique and diverges from the glut of other comic books on the market. SWAT: ELDRITCH BLUE is receiving a strong social media push which will have readers begging to learn more about the series and its creators!

“SWAT was a true joy to write,” states series writer Justin Coke, “The characters started telling me what they were going to do, which is always a great sign.
