Disney Unveils Moana 2 Teaser with The Rock

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Disney released the first teaser for “Moana 2,” directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino. The sequel features music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. Scheduled for a theatrical release on November 27, 2024, the film follows Moana on a perilous journey across Oceania after an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors. Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho reprise their roles, continuing the legacy of the 2016 hit that grossed over $687 million globally and received Oscar nominations. Johnson, who showcased footage at Cinemacon and received the NATO Spirit of the Industry Award, emphasized the enduring importance of the theater business.
