Marvel Television and Marvel Animation opened New York Comic Con on Thursday with a 90-minute panel on the Empire Stage at the Javits Center. Brandon Davis moderated while Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Television, Animation, Comics and Franchise, walked more than 3,000 fans through the Disney+ slate. The panel was not livestreamed, and most of the footage stayed in the room.
Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker joined Winderbaum at the top to preview the publishing side, including the Midnight Universe line that launched October 7 and what follows Amazing Spider-Man #1000. Marvel and Webtoon also announced a new Marvel Comics app at the convention. The dedicated comics panels run Friday and Saturday.

Zodiac Is Marvel’s Next Live-Action Series
Winderbaum’s first announcement was Zodiac, a live-action spy thriller coming to Disney+ in 2028. Filming starts in London this spring, and casting begins within the next couple of weeks. He revealed the title and logo and told comics readers there is a lot hidden in the design. Cinelinx spotted what looks like a S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem in it. In the comics, Zodiac is a criminal cartel with a long history of fighting S.H.I.E.L.D.
Before Thursday, Marvel had no announced live-action series beyond the final season of Daredevil: Born Again. Wonder Man’s second season was canceled earlier this year.

Marvel Zombies Returns Every Halloween Through 2029
Marvel Zombies is coming back as three two-part events in place of a traditional second season, with director Bryan Andrews returning. Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier arrives for Halloween 2027. Marvel Zombies: The Fist of Khonshu follows in 2028, a title that points to Moon Knight. Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian ends the story in 2029.
Winderbaum would not say who the Last Guardian is. GamesRadar+ and The Pop Break both read the logo as pointing to a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He said the team is about halfway through animatics.

Spider-Man Season 2 Gets a Date and a Symbiote
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 premieres on Disney+ on January 13, 2027. Creator Jeff Trammell came out to show footage and the first poster, which has Spider-Man tangled in black symbiote goo.
Trammell said Peter starts the season without the mentor and support system he had in season 1, and that he will need help against bigger threats. Sometimes, he told the crowd, that help “comes in the form of inky black goo from space.”
X-Men ’97 Season 3 Footage Ends at a Wedding
X-Men ’97 season 3 premieres in 2027, and a fourth season is planned. The footage was shown only to the room. According to GamesRadar+, it opens on graffiti asking where the X-Men are, then cuts to riots and mutants being stopped from traveling without documentation. A Sentinel attacks a mutant before the Brotherhood steps in. Storm and Xavier ride in a limo talking about an anti-mutant president, and they arrive at Rogue and Gambit’s wedding, where She-Hulk is a guest. Cinelinx also reported a look at Deadpool.
Winderbaum said one episode of the new season still gets him choked up when he thinks about it.
Three Defenders Take the Stage for Daredevil’s Final Season
Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, and Finn Jones appeared together for Daredevil: Born Again season 3, which debuts in 2027. Mike Colter missed the panel because of a last-minute scheduling conflict, according to Marvel. The confirmation that season 3 is the last one drew boos from the crowd.
The footage showed the other Defenders inside a government building while Matt Murdock sits in prison. Bullseye sets off a bomb there, and Matt builds a Daredevil mask and suit out of his orange jumpsuit. In voiceover, Matt says he chose to pay for stopping Wilson Fisk and would make the same choice again.
Asked about the show ending, Cox pointed to the fan campaign that helped bring the character back after Netflix. “You don’t want to face the wrath of the Save Daredevil people,” he said.
VisionQuest Closes the Panel With Its Full First Episode
Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, and Emily Hampshire came out with showrunner Terry Matalas to close the panel. Bettany joked that Vision has spent the years since WandaVision working in a pub, then said the show is about fathers and sons.
A new trailer showed that Tommy Shepherd, Vision’s son, has been kidnapped, and that Spader’s Ultron wants to kill everyone responsible. Marvel also released a new poster. Winderbaum then played the entire first episode for the room, and attendees left with mini-posters.
VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ on October 14 and runs eight episodes.
