The Russo Brothers have set Marvel fans on edge ahead of their SXSW London appearance, teasing a “Surprise at 2pm” on June 2 that many believe could be the first full look at Avengers: Doomsday.

The tease arrived through a string of Instagram posts that built on each other over several days. It started with a plain green color swatch posted with no caption and no context, which fans immediately began decoding. Some pointed to the green’s hex code as a hidden date, though nothing about the color was ever confirmed to carry meaning. The directors then revealed the green was the flag of Latveria, the home nation of Doctor Doom, tying the campaign directly to Robert Downey Jr.’s villain.
The most recent post is the one driving the current frenzy. Sharing the completed Latveria logo, the filmmakers wrote “#DomLatveria, 4b Holywell Ln, London, EC2A 3ET. Starts June 2nd at 10am. Surprise at 2pm.” They tagged Marvel Studios, Avengers, Robert Downey Jr., AGBO, and SXSW in the post.

The 2pm BST window has fans convinced that something big is coming. That time slot, which lands at 9am ET and 6am PT, is the usual hour Marvel Studios drops a new trailer. With the Russos in London for SXSW and the timing lining up so cleanly, speculation has grown that the first public trailer for Avengers: Doomsday could be hours away.
There is a wrinkle worth flagging. The address listed in the post belongs to Flying Horse Coffee, a shop in Shoreditch, which has some fans thinking the “surprise” may be a fan activation built to promote the movie rather than an online trailer release. The two are not mutually exclusive, but the coffee shop detail has tempered some of the trailer expectations.

The SXSW context adds more fuel. The Russo Brothers are hosting two panels at SXSW London on June 2. The first is a Deadline Live Studio session focused on AGBO at 2:15pm BST, followed by Building Artistic Universes Without Borders at 3:45pm BST, which features Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, and Donald Mustard with Variety editor Ramin Setoodeh moderating. Later that evening there is a screening of Avengers: Infinity War at 8:45pm BST.
Not everyone is sold on the trailer theory. SXSW London is not a traditional Marvel marketing platform, and some believe the studio is more likely to save its next major reveal for San Diego Comic-Con later this summer. Others think the tease could simply be hinting that Downey will appear in person alongside the Russos at the event.
Marvel has not officially confirmed a trailer, a teaser, or any footage tied to the SXSW appearance. Everything circulating right now is built on the timing of the posts and the accounts the Russos chose to tag. For fans who have been waiting since the project was announced, even that has been enough to generate serious excitement.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars set for December 17, 2027.
