Netflix is loading even more recognizable faces into the halls of Nevermore. Wednesday Season 3 has added Lena Headey, James Lance, and Andrew McCarthy as guest stars, with the streamer confirming that the new season is currently in production near Dublin. Netflix has not revealed who any of them are playing yet, which keeps the door open for plenty of fan speculation.

The timing of the announcement matters too. Netflix confirmed Season 3 on April 9, 2026, and said the renewal came before the debut of Season 2, which is now streaming. According to Tudum, co-creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar plan to expand the world around Wednesday by introducing new students, new teachers, and more Addams Family secrets.
Headey feels like a natural fit for the show’s dark, theatrical tone. She brings the kind of sharp presence that could work as a villain, an uneasy ally, or even a powerful figure tied to Nevermore’s deeper history. Lance is a very different kind of addition, and that contrast could be part of the fun. His dry screen presence could slot neatly into the strange, deadpan rhythm that helps Wednesday stand apart from other genre shows. Those are still educated guesses for now, though, because Netflix is keeping character details buried.

They join a Season 3 lineup that is already getting crowded in a good way. Netflix previously announced newcomers including Winona Ryder, Eva Green, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. Green is set to play Aunt Ophelia, the missing sister of Morticia Addams, which suggests Season 3 may lean even harder into family mythology alongside whatever new mystery Wednesday ends up facing next.
For Netflix, this is another sign that Wednesday remains one of its biggest genre properties. Tudum notes that the first season still stands as Netflix’s most-viewed English-language series, so adding actors like Headey and Lance looks less like a fun bonus and more like a statement that the streamer wants Season 3 to stay event television.
