Jason Momoa is officially set to star as the lead in a live-action adaptation of Helldivers, with Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions backing the project. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 10, 2027.
The movie adapts the co-op sci-fi shooter franchise from Arrowhead Game Studios, best known for its squad-based missions, heavy firepower, and satirical “managed democracy” vibe. That tone is a big part of what made the games stand out, and it is also what makes this adaptation interesting. If it leans too seriously, it risks losing the identity fans love.
