The first full trailer for Masters of the Universe is online, and it finally puts the movie’s big swing front and center: this story starts on Earth before the Sword of Grayskull yanks everything back into fantasy mode.

Nicholas Galitzine plays Prince Adam, who has grown up on Earth as “Adam Glenn,” working a dull corporate HR job while feeling like he is meant for something else. The trailer leans into that fish-out-of-water setup, showing Adam stuck in routine life, quietly haunted by the idea of a sword and a world he cannot fully explain. It is a surprisingly grounded entry point for a franchise that is usually all muscle, monsters, and neon skies.

Once the sword enters the picture, the trailer shifts hard into Eternia. The scale looks big, with a lot of practical-looking texture layered under the visual effects. You get quick hits of classic iconography, familiar faces, and the kind of bright, heightened production design that makes Masters of the Universe feel distinct from the usual gray fantasy palette.

Camila Mendes’ Teela and Idris Elba’s Duncan, aka Man-At-Arms, come off like the anchors once the story turns back toward Eternia, pushing Adam toward who he is supposed to become rather than who he has been forced to be. The trailer frames the team-up as less “chosen one” victory lap and more “you do not get to avoid this anymore,” which fits the transformation theme without over-explaining it.

And yes, the moment everyone is waiting for is here: Jared Leto’s Skeletor appears late in the trailer, setting up the inevitable clash once Adam becomes He-Man. It is a clear “first look” tease more than a full character showcase, but it is enough to sell the rivalry and the tone the movie is aiming for.

Masters of the Universe hits theaters June 5, 2026, with Travis Knight directing.
