Marvel Studios just put out a new Avengers: Doomsday teaser that finally leans into what a lot of fans have been waiting for: the X-Men stepping onto the MCU’s board in a real way.
The footage centers on the familiar trio, with Patrick Stewart back as Professor X, Ian McKellen returning as Magneto, and James Marsden showing up as Cyclops. It’s not a cameo-style quick cut either. The teaser treats them like a major pillar of the story.
What jumped out most is the tone. The Xavier’s School imagery is bleak, and the vibe feels more like “something has already been lost” than a victory lap. Then you get the classic Xavier and Magneto chess energy, followed by Cyclops unleashing a full optic blast that looks like it’s meant to be the teaser’s big punctuation mark.
