Netflix’s new trailer for the final season of Stranger Things locks us back into Hawkins, now under military quarantine and crawling with fresh threats from the Upside Down. Vecna isn’t lurking in the shadows anymore. He’s striking in the open while the original crew regroups, and the whole thing is cut to Queen’s “Who Wants to Live Forever,” which gives the footage a funeral march energy. There are quick flashes of rifts widening, field lights and barricades, and Eleven gearing up for another round, all set in fall 1987.
Netflix also lays out the plan for the endgame. Season 5 arrives in three drops at 8 p.m. ET, with four episodes on November 26, three more on December 25, and the series finale on December 31. Expect a bigger focus on Will, a fully rebuilt Vecna, and some full-circle answers about the Upside Down, with fan events planned for the finale in select theaters.
