Lucasfilm dropped the first teaser for The Mandalorian and Grogu, and it leans into pulpy adventure with quick cuts of speeders, gladiator pits, and a hulking Hutt silhouette. Din Djarin and Grogu are recruited to help a shaky New Republic hold the line after the Empire’s fall, and the teaser shows them back in a new Razor Crest with Grogu doing a little Force flexing between close calls.
The poster and footage tease familiar faces and new ones, including Sigourney Weaver, plus a nod to Rebels with Zeb Orrelios in the key art. Jon Favreau is directing, Ludwig Göransson returns for the score, and the film was shot for IMAX, which fits the trailer’s bigger, brighter look. The release date is set for May 22, 2026, which marks Star Wars’ first theatrical return since 2019.
