Marvel just gave fans a flashy peek at Avengers: Doomsday, and the spotlight could not be more obvious. Doctor Doom owned the moment. At the Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai, a 3D light show ran through Doom imagery and then flashed emblems for teams fans have been waiting to see share the screen. Fantastic Four. X Men. Avengers. It reads like a mission statement for where the story is headed.
What The Light Show Actually Showed
Clips circulating online highlight Doom in multiple poses, a mask close-up, and the kind of throne imagery that comic readers will clock immediately. The presentation also cycled through logos for the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X Men, and even a Black Panther visual, suggesting the crossover scope that has been rumored since SDCC. The showcase video was posted to X by fan trackers at the event, which lines up with on-site reports from Disney-focused outlets. Public rollout plans for the full light show have not been shared yet.

Why Marvel Is Doing This Now
Marvel confirmed at last year’s Hall H that Joe and Anthony Russo are back for Doomsday and Secret Wars, and that Robert Downey Jr. is trading armor for a green cloak as Victor Von Doom. With production underway and a December 18, 2026 date on the calendar, it makes sense to seed the look and tone now without revealing plot. The official film pages also reflect the current schedule, including Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.

What It Signals For The Story
The Shanghai reel puts Doom ahead of the pack, which tracks with the plan to pivot the saga toward him as the central antagonist. Seeing the Fantastic Four and X Men marks front and center adds weight to expectations that Doomsday will be the first true on-screen convergence of Marvel’s legacy teams under one roof. None of that confirms specific scenes, but the branding is not shy about promoting the scale.
Production Status And What Comes Next
Filming began in late April at Pinewood in the U.K., with location work reported in Bahrain, and the studio has been steadily locking big returnees and legacy faces. That lines up with the massive ensemble teased on stage and on Marvel’s official pages. A full trailer is still a ways off, but this preview sets the table for a Doom-driven marketing run once 2026 heats up.
