Director Luke Sparke is putting a prehistoric spin on the Vietnam War with Primitive War, based on the cult sci-fi novel by Ethan Pettus. Set in 1968, the story follows Vulture Squad, a recon team sent into an isolated jungle valley to track down a missing Green Beret platoon. What they find instead are living dinosaurs.
As the squad ventures deeper into the jungle, the mission quickly shifts from rescue to survival. The valley becomes a nightmare where the team must face ancient predators and the unraveling of their own humanity.
The cast includes Jeremy Piven as Jericho, known for his work in Entourage and Mr. Selfridge. Tricia Helfer plays Sophia, bringing her iconic presence from Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer. Ryan Kwanten, best known as Jason Stackhouse in True Blood, stars as Baker. With this cast and premise, Primitive War blends war drama, creature horror, and psychological tension into something bold and bloody.
