The first official trailer for Mortal Kombat II has arrived, and it’s exactly what fans hoped for—blood-soaked, over-the-top, and loaded with returning favorites and fresh faces. The sequel picks up after the 2021 film, pushing Earthrealm’s champions into a new fight for survival, this time facing the dark threat of Shao Kahn.

Headlining the cast is Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, finally bringing the beloved loudmouth action star to life in all his cocky glory. He joins a strong returning cast that includes Jessica McNamee, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, and Hiroyuki Sanada, with Simon McQuoid back in the director’s chair. Joe Taslim returns as Bi-Han, with the rivalry between Sub-Zero and Scorpion continuing to burn.

The trailer promises a more expansive and violent tournament, leaning deeper into the franchise’s legacy of gory spectacle and mythic stakes. With bigger battles, higher production value, and the introduction of even more iconic fighters, Mortal Kombat II looks like a true leveling-up for the series.

Mortal Kombat II hits theaters and IMAX on October 24, 2025, with international releases beginning October 22.
