It is rare for a TV show to land a fifth season before the fourth one airs, but Invincible just pulled it off. Prime Video officially announced that the animated superhero series is coming back for season five, proving just how strong the show’s momentum is.

This is not a shock for longtime fans. Season three became Prime Video’s most-watched adult animated season ever. It also holds the record as the biggest returning season among all of Prime Video’s adult animation originals. That level of viewership is tough to ignore.

Created by Robert Kirkman, Invincible is based on his long-running comic of the same name. The story centers on Mark Grayson, a teenager juggling school life and the terrifying pressure of living up to his superhero father. The show is graphic, emotional, clever, and consistently unpredictable. It balances the coming-of-age struggles with jaw-dropping fights and moral gray areas, which helps it stand out in a crowded superhero landscape.

The cast includes a long list of stars. Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons headline the series, joined by talent like Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Zazie Beetz, Jason Mantzoukas, Mark Hamill, and many others. The voice performances are a big part of what makes the show so compelling.

Season four is still on the way, but fans can relax knowing there is more Invincible in the pipeline. Prime Video clearly sees this as a long-term player in their lineup of adult animated hits.

For those looking for something that hits hard both emotionally and physically, Invincible remains one of the best choices on streaming. And it is not going anywhere anytime soon.
