Netflix has released the first official trailer for Stranger Things 5, and it’s packed with intensity, surprises, and the arrival of an action icon. Linda Hamilton, known for The Terminator, Dante’s Peak, and Children of the Corn, joins the cast as Dr. Kay, a figure clearly in control and backed by her own private SWAT team.

This final season picks up in the fall of 1987, a year after the events of season 4. Hawkins has changed completely. Rifts to the Upside Down have torn through the town, leaving it in ruins and crawling with creatures. The government has stepped in, quarantining the area and doubling down on its pursuit of Eleven, who is once again forced into hiding.

The story follows the returning cast as they search for Vecna, whose location and plans are unknown. The tone is darker. The threat is greater. And the showrunners say this season feels like “eight blockbuster movies” for a reason.

Hamilton’s Dr. Kay is not the only newcomer. Jake Connelly plays Derek Turnbow and Alex Breaux takes on the role of Lt. Akers. Breaux also plays a younger version of Dr. Brenner in the stage prequel Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

Longtime fans will recognize the entire ensemble is back. Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, and more return for one last chapter. The trailer confirms Max is still in a coma, watched over by Lucas. Demogorgons are once again on the hunt. And Vecna, at the very end, utters a chilling line: “Found you.”

Here’s the final release schedule:

  • Vol. 1 premieres November 26 at 5 p.m. PT
  • Vol. 2 lands on Christmas Day at 5 p.m. PT
  • The series finale drops solo on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m. PT

This is the beginning of the end. One last fight for Hawkins.
