Nintendo’s long-awaited live-action Legend of Zelda film is finally bringing Hyrule to life, and now we know who’s wearing the iconic green tunic and wielding royal wisdom. Bo Bragason has been cast as Princess Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take up the mantle as Link.

The announcement came directly from Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto in a rare social media post, sharing excitement over the casting. Along with the news, fans were treated to what appear to be first-look costume photos of the two young actors in their respective roles.
Bo Bragason is a rising English talent with credits in Three Girls, Renegade Nell, and the upcoming The Jetty. She also starred in The Radleys, a dark comedy with a supernatural twist. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, also from England, has already voiced Disney’s Pinocchio and made waves in Netflix’s The Haunting of Bly Manor.

While plot details remain under wraps, this casting gives us a good sense of the tone: youthful, adventurous, and likely leaning into the coming-of-age journey that defines so much of the Zelda franchise.
Nintendo has been quiet about other casting or directorial details, but with two promising leads now confirmed, it’s clear that production is moving forward. For longtime fans, this could be the start of a faithful and imaginative take on one of gaming’s most iconic stories.
Stay tuned for more updates as we await the journey to Hyrule.
