It’s New Comic Book Day, and this week’s stack is packed with action, revelations, and some major character moments. I’ve got my personal favorites linked after this post, but here’s a quick look at what each title brings to the table today:

Action Comics #1087
Mark Waid returns to Action Comics with artist Skylar Patridge, taking readers back to Clark Kent’s early days on the Kent Farm. The story explores Clark’s journey toward becoming a hero, starting with a visit to Metropolis’s Expo of Tomorrow. As he tries to blend in, the question looms: will this be the moment Superboy steps into the spotlight?

Absolute Batman #9
A mysterious facility called Ark M is shaping the underbelly of Gotham, intentionally or not. When Bruce Wayne infiltrates it, an old enemy of Alfred’s arrives to complicate things: Bane. This issue digs into Gotham’s grim institutions and the ghosts that come with them.

Something Is Killing the Children #42
Erica Slaughter’s early days as a hunter take center stage. Partnering with Jessica, Erica uncovers more about her past, while Jessica’s own secrets threaten to change everything she thought she knew about the House. This series continues to be a tense, emotional ride.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #9
Donatello’s in trouble. Captured by the Foot Clan, the remaining Turtles prepare for all-out war against Karai. But just as tensions reach their peak, a voice of reason intervenes—coming from an unexpected source: the body of a dead rat.

Magik #6
Guest-starring Madelyne Pryor, the Goblin Queen. Limbo faces a threat so big that it requires two queens to take it on. Illyana Rasputin and Madelyne Pryor team up, and as you’d expect, nothing about this alliance goes smoothly.

Spawn #365
The war between Heaven and Hell has spilled onto Earth. Angels and demons are battling in the streets, and only Spawn stands between humanity and complete chaos. Longtime fans should expect plenty of classic Spawn intensity in this one.

Batman and Robin #22
Batman faces horrors both supernatural and psychological in his desperate quest to save Damian. With his son lost in Gotham’s shadowy labyrinth, Bruce must interrogate Etrigan the Demon for answers. This issue is packed with eerie moments and emotional stakes.

Star Wars #2
Set after Return of the Jedi, this series continues with Luke Skywalker learning more about the Nagai and a mysterious object called the Crown of Verity. As Luke travels to the icy planet of Gadrilim, tragedy lurks ahead.

Free Planet #2
The Freedom Guard finds that defending liberty can be harder than earning it. Supplies are low, allies are divided, and their new recruit, Jackson Crater, may be more than he seems. Is he a freedom fighter or something more dangerous?
These are just a few of the highlights on shelves today. Happy reading!
