Legendary Pictures is leveling up its Street Fighter adaptation with a potential powerhouse cast. Sources close to the project report that Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), Noah Centineo (Warfare), and Roman Reigns (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw) are all in talks to join the live-action film based on Capcom’s iconic fighting game franchise.

While no official plot details have been released, the Street Fighter universe is rich with global martial arts action, character rivalries, and the looming threat of the villainous M. Bison and his Shadaloo syndicate. It’s likely the film will center around the famed world tournament that has been a staple of the series since its 1987 debut.

Kitao Sakurai, known for his boundary-pushing comedy Bad Trip, is set to direct, taking over from the Philippou brothers (Talk to Me), who were initially attached in 2023. Capcom is directly involved in co-developing and co-producing the film with Legendary, a promising sign for fans hoping for authenticity.

The casting rumors, if confirmed, suggest the studio is going for a blend of intense action and broad appeal:

  • Andrew Koji, best known for Warrior and Gangs of London, brings martial arts credibility and dramatic gravitas.
  • Jason Momoa, fresh off nearly a billion-dollar run with Minecraft, is poised to continue his blockbuster streak.
  • Noah Centineo, with his recent shift toward more action-heavy roles, adds a younger presence to the mix.
  • Roman Reigns, one of WWE’s most dominant performers, could bring sheer physicality and fan recognition to the big screen.

No screenwriter or official producer has been announced yet, though the talent circling the project signals Legendary’s intent to treat Street Fighter as more than just a nostalgic cash grab. If done right, this adaptation could stand shoulder to shoulder with recent video game hits like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Sonic the Hedgehog.

The Street Fighter franchise has sold over 55 million copies worldwide and remains a cornerstone of competitive gaming. With the backing of Capcom and a potential cast built for global appeal, Legendary is clearly aiming for a knockout.
