Max has dropped the first trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, and it is immediately clear this is not just a continuation of the original series. The trailer opens with Sean Gunn’s Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, and Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl interviewing Peacemaker in what looks like a failed recruitment attempt. The vibe is dismissive and awkward, exactly the kind of uncomfortable energy Peacemaker thrives in.
What really stands out are the connections. This is our first full look at characters already confirmed for Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, which releases just a month before Peacemaker returns. It is a clear sign that Gunn’s new DC Universe is building continuity across titles, something past DC attempts struggled to lock in.
Despite being born in the scrapped DCEU, Peacemaker still fits into the new world. That is partly because Gunn has kept the core team together.
