The titanic showdown is far from over. Legendary Pictures has officially confirmed the next MonsterVerse entry, Godzilla X Kong Supernova. Announced through the film’s social media channels, the sequel to Godzilla X Kong The New Empire is now in production and scheduled for release on March 26, 2027.
The announcement was paired with a short teaser featuring Monarch headquarters, the fictional organization that tracks the world’s titans. Fans were also given a number to call, 240 MON ARCH, to report a titan sighting. Calling it leads to a cryptic Monarch message, creating an interactive experience that expands the story outside the screen.
The New Empire earned nearly 572 million dollars worldwide, showing that audiences still have a massive appetite for larger than life battles. With much of that success coming from the international market, Supernova is expected to continue the global momentum.

This next installment is directed by Grant Sputore, best known for I Am Mother, and written by Dave Callaham and Michael Lloyd Green. The cast includes Kaitlyn Dever, Dan Stevens, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Sam Neill, and Alycia Debnam Carey. That kind of ensemble suggests the human side of the story will be just as engaging as the monster fights.
Though the plot is still a mystery, the word Supernova hints at something much bigger than before. Whether that means space titans, global catastrophe, or a new level of evolution, the MonsterVerse seems ready to raise the stakes in a major way.
Expect more updates as production ramps up. If Supernova follows the steps of its predecessor, we’ll be in for another round of monster madness wrapped in world building and spectacle.
