The Geek Freaks crew is back with a packed new episode covering some of the hottest topics in geek culture right now—starting with the highly anticipated return of Andor, the surprise drop of Oblivion Remastered, and early buzz around Star Wars Celebration 2025. With Frank, Jonathan, and Squeaks on the mic, the conversation stays fast, funny, and full of fandom fire.

Andor Season 2 Kicks Off with a Bang

The episode opens with a deep dive into the first three episodes of Andor Season 2, with Jonathan delivering an impassioned breakdown. He highlights the balance of gritty realism and political tension, especially calling out the emotional weight of Mon Mothma’s storyline—forced into dangerous compromises just to keep the rebellion alive.

The team also shouts out Dedra Meero as a standout Imperial villain. Squeaks praises her no-nonsense demeanor and boss-level energy, and Frank draws a brilliant comparison between Dedra and Cyril’s unsettling chemistry to Dwight and Angela from The Office—awkward, intense, and weirdly compelling.

The verdict? It’s another strong start for Andor, even if Episode 2 slows things down for narrative setup. The cinematography, from the contrast of wheat fields to high-tech ships, remains among the best in Star Wars TV.

“You don’t even need to watch Rogue One to enjoy this show—it stands on its own.” – Jonathan

Oblivion Remastered is Nostalgia Done Right

Next, Frank takes the wheel to gush over Oblivion Remastered. While technically a remaster, it feels closer to a remake thanks to upgraded visuals, a new engine, and tweaks that retain the game’s quirky charm. The classic voice work from Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean is back, the soundtrack hits hard, and yes—the lockpicking is still as annoying as ever.

There’s also a heartfelt moment when Frank talks about switching from PC to Xbox due to performance issues, only to fall back into old habits as a stealth archer. It’s a love letter to Elder Scrolls fans, especially those who’ve been waiting for Oblivion to get its due.

“It’s like coming home.” – Frank

Expedition 33: A Surprise Standout

Squeaks rounds out the reviews with Expedition 33, a turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive that’s already making waves. With fast-paced tactical gameplay, real-time button inputs for dodging and attacking, and an emotionally rich world, this one caught the Geek Freaks team off guard in the best way. With Charlie Cox and Andy Serkis lending their voices, the game blends anime-style visuals with hardcore difficulty à la Elden Ring.

Even on lower difficulty settings, Expedition 33 demands your attention—but rewards it just as fast.

“Final Fantasy meets Elden Ring. It’s challenging, gorgeous, and totally addicting.” – Squeaks

Star Wars Celebration 2025 and Beyond

Sprinkled throughout the episode are teases and excitement around the upcoming Star Wars Celebration 2025. The team anticipates big reveals and reflects on Andor‘s placement in the broader Star Wars timeline. They also hint at more Star Wars content coverage coming soon across the Geek Freaks Network.
