Bethesda has finally pulled back the curtain on one of gaming’s worst kept secrets. The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered is officially here and it’s out now.
After years of speculation, rumors, and hopeful modding communities trying to recapture the magic, Bethesda has released an updated version of its beloved 2006 fantasy RPG. Built using Unreal Engine 5 by Virtuos, the remaster modernizes the classic while keeping the soul of the original intact. With overhauled visuals, improved gameplay mechanics, and every major piece of DLC included, Oblivion Remastered is not just a nostalgic nod. It is a full-blown love letter to fans both old and new.
Set in the province of Cyrodiil, Oblivion places players in the middle of a Daedric invasion, pitting them against otherworldly horrors and the cultists trying to tear the world apart. Now, nearly two decades later, this rich narrative returns with a fresh coat of paint, enhanced textures, reworked lighting, and smoother combat mechanics. Longtime fans will instantly notice the glow-up, while newcomers can experience a foundational RPG in a way that finally feels up to modern standards.
Available now via shadowdrop for PC, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5. It is also included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Oblivion Remastered launches in both a Standard and Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition includes the base game plus expansions like Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. The Deluxe Edition adds new armor sets, a digital artbook, and a full soundtrack.
This is not just a quick touch-up. This is Oblivion brought to life again. One of the most influential RPGs of its time has finally received the upgrade it always deserved.
Whether you are forging your path as a mage in the Arcane University, getting lost in the eccentric chaos of the Shivering Isles, or just replaying the quest where you punch mudcrabs for fun, Oblivion Remastered invites everyone back to Cyrodiil. And it has never looked better.
