Nintendo is officially opening pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States on April 24, 2025, holding firm on the launch price of $449.99 and the June 5 release date. This marks a confident step forward for the company amid a turbulent tech market, where supply chain challenges and tariff concerns had previously caused delays.

Originally slated for April 9, the pre-order window was pushed back so Nintendo could evaluate potential economic impacts. Now, with market conditions in better focus, the gaming giant has decided to move forward without changing its hardware pricing, reinforcing consumer confidence.

One of the standout announcements is that the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle will also stay locked in at $499.99. Both Mario Kart World and the anticipated Donkey Kong Bananza will retain their respective $79.99 and $69.99 price tags at launch, whether you’re buying digital or physical.

While the console’s pricing remains steady, Nintendo issued a heads-up that several accessory prices have been adjusted since their April 2 listing. A full breakdown of current pricing shows a mix of premium accessories—like the $94.99 Joy-Con 2 Pair and the $119.99 Dock Set—likely reflecting rising production and materials costs.

Notably, Nintendo also stated that prices for its hardware, games, and accessories may continue to fluctuate depending on ongoing market conditions, leaving the door open for future changes. However, locking in the current prices ahead of launch gives early adopters a clear picture of what they’ll be paying.

With pre-orders imminent, fans eager to secure the new console can breathe a sigh of relief that the pricing hasn’t jumped. While the Switch 2 sits higher than its predecessor in cost, it also brings a notable upgrade in performance, visuals, and features—including accessories like the new Switch 2 Camera and a Samsung-branded microSD Express Card.
