After delivering one of the most jaw-dropping, blood-soaked finales in MCU history, Daredevil: Born Again is officially returning for season 2 in March 2026. That’s just one year after season 1’s debut—a lightning-fast turnaround by today’s streaming standards and a strong signal that Marvel is doubling down on this darker, more grounded corner of its universe.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane confirmed the news this week, reinforcing what many fans had hoped: Born Again was never meant to be a one-and-done affair. Whether the two seasons are part of one long narrative or broken into chapters, the goal remains the same—keep the momentum going and keep Daredevil at the heart of a resurgent street-level MCU.

For longtime fans of the original Netflix series, the return of familiar faces may be just around the corner. Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum told ScreenRant the plan is to release Daredevil seasons yearly moving forward, with “season infinity” not entirely off the table. When asked which Netflix-era character he wants to bring back, Winderbaum didn’t hesitate: Jessica Jones.

The rest of the cast? They’re ready if called. Elodie Yung is game to return as Elektra. Mike Colter still believes a Luke Cage comeback is possible. And even Finn Jones, whose Iron Fist was the weakest link of the Defenders lineup, wants another shot—asking fans to give him a chance to prove himself. If Marvel really is building a mature, R-rated street-level saga, then these characters may find new life in this more brutal, grounded take on New York’s superhero scene.

We’ve already seen the signs: Echo kicked things off with a grittier tone and TV-MA rating. Born Again pushed those boundaries further. And the rumored Punisher special? It could mark the beginning of a wider embrace of the dark and morally complex heroes who don’t fly—but fight in the alleys, bleed on rooftops, and deliver justice with bruised fists.

The streets of New York in the MCU just got a whole lot more interesting—and Marvel seems ready to stay there for the long haul.
