DC Comics is going all in on Batman: H2SH, the highly anticipated sequel to the fan-favorite Hush storyline, with an ambitious promotional push. The publisher has released a cinematic trailer that animates key panels from the upcoming comic while giving a spotlight to writer Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee, DC’s president, publisher, and chief creative officer.
The 12-issue series, launching on March 26 in Batman #158, brings back the creative team behind Hush, including inker Scott Williams and colorist Alex Sinclair. DC’s commitment to this sequel is evident, with H2SH being a major focus at ComicsPro 2025, an annual industry event held this year in Glendale, CA. Retailers and distributors were given an early look at DC’s publishing plans, with H2SH expected to be one of the year’s biggest-selling comics.
A Trailer Unlike Any Other
While DC has released promotional trailers for comics before, H2SH’s trailer stands out by emphasizing the star power of its creators. The video seamlessly blends Loeb and Lee’s artwork with dramatic cinematography, showcasing the two walking in slow motion into a loft-like studio—complete with an artist’s table, soft lighting, and cinematic flair. The stylish shots add a Hollywood-level polish to the promotional campaign, reflecting the weight DC is putting behind this project.

Why H2SH Matters
The original Hush storyline, which ran in Batman from 2002 to 2003, is one of the most celebrated Batman arcs in modern comics. It introduced a new villain—Hush—while weaving in nearly every major member of Batman’s rogues’ gallery. The story became a perennial bestseller, has been reprinted multiple times, and even adapted into an animated film. The sequel, years in the making, aims to build upon that legacy.
H2SH’s first half will run through August’s Batman #163, while the second half is slated for later in the year. If early hype is any indication, the series could follow in the footsteps of DC’s Absolute Batman #1, which was 2024’s top-selling comic, surpassing 400,000 copies ordered.
DC’s Strong Momentum
H2SH is launching amidst DC’s broader “All In” publishing initiative, which has reimagined iconic characters under the Absolute imprint. Absolute Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman were major successes, with multiple printings fueling DC’s strong finish to 2024. By leveraging both established legacy characters and innovative storytelling, DC is making a play to dominate the sales charts once again.
