Alan Tudyk, known for his role in Firefly, has revealed that he will voice Clayface in the upcoming animated series Creature Commandos, the first project in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe relaunch. Tudyk disclosed the casting during an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, adding that he was specifically asked by Gunn to reprise the role, which he also voiced in the Harley Quinn series, though this interpretation will differ.

“In this [series], Clayface is a killer. He’s a homicidal maniac,” Tudyk explained, contrasting it with his comedic take in Harley Quinn. “It’s really cool about DC. I get to play the same character two completely different ways, and I like them both.” The series is set to debut in 2024.

Tudyk’s confirmation fuels speculation that he may also portray Clayface in Gunn’s live-action Superman: Legacy, which stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. While Gunn has indicated a preference for actors to carry roles across mediums within the DCU, it is unclear if Tudyk’s mystery role in the film will tie directly to Creature Commandos.

Superman: Legacy and Creature Commandos represent Gunn’s commitment to interconnected storytelling in the new DCU, blending animated and live-action projects.
