Marvel fans, we’ve got a key update on the upcoming Vision series for Disney+. While the show isn’t set to release until 2026, star Paul Bettany has shared some insights that hint at what’s to come.
Production Kicks Off Next Year
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bettany revealed that the Vision series is expected to begin production next year. He also mentioned that he’s been following the WandaVision spinoff Agatha All Along closely, saying, “I love it, and I’m so proud of [showrunner] Jac Schaeffer. I am going to watch again because there’s so much for me to learn moving forward into my contribution.”

What We Know So Far
- Title: The series has been referred to as Vision Quest, but that’s not the official title yet.
- Plot: The story will pick up after WandaVision, focusing on Vision’s journey to find his identity after his rebirth in a new, white form.
- Showrunner Change: Originally, Jac Schaeffer was set to run the series, but earlier this year, Terry Matalas took over the role. Schaeffer confirmed she’s no longer involved but wished the team well: “Paul’s a dear friend and an extraordinary person. I’m not involved, but I’m rooting for it.”
Cast Additions and Returning Characters
- James Spader as Ultron: Spader will reprise his role, bringing back the iconic villain from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
- Todd Stashwick: Known for Star Trek: Picard and 12 Monkeys, Stashwick has been cast as an assassin targeting Vision and his technology.

Will Agatha All Along Connect to Vision?
Bettany’s comments suggest there could be some ties between the Vision series and Agatha All Along. While no direct plot connections have been confirmed, the series might pull from Marvel’s Vision Quest storyline from the 1980s West Coast Avengers comics. There are also theories about a potential return of Wanda Maximoff, hinting at deeper connections to WandaVision and Agatha All Along.
