Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for A Minecraft Movie, offering a glimpse into the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the best-selling game. Directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite), the trailer introduces the film’s quirky cast of characters—Garrett (Jason Momoa), Henry (Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks)—as they are transported into Minecraft’s blocky world. They team up with Steve, played by Jack Black, to master the game’s mechanics and protect the Overworld from classic Minecraft foes like Piglins and Zombies. After nearly a decade of development and several director changes, the film, which combines humor and adventure, is set to hit theaters on April 4, 2025.
