Netflix has announced that Oscar-nominated actor Barry Keoghan is joining the cast of the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. This news was confirmed on X/Twitter shortly after Deadline reported that Keoghan would be part of the project, which was greenlit back in June. Keoghan will be joining Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson in the film, directed by Tom Harper, but details about his role are still under wraps.

Barry Keoghan has been making a name for himself with standout performances in recent years. Last year, he earned a BAFTA and a Golden Globe nomination for his leading role in Saltburn. He also won a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in The Banshees of Inisherin. Beyond these roles, Keoghan has appeared as Druig in Marvel’s Eternals and played the Joker in The Batman alongside Robert Pattinson.
The Next Chapter for Peaky Blinders
The Peaky Blinders movie will continue the story of the popular TV series that ran for six seasons. The film, set during World War II, is written by the show’s creator, Steven Knight. While Keoghan’s character hasn’t been revealed yet, fans are excited to see how he will fit into the world of the Shelby family.

The production team includes several familiar names from the series, with Steven Knight producing alongside Caryn Mandabach, Guy Heeley, and Cillian Murphy. Tom Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason are also on board as executive producers.
With Keoghan’s addition, the Peaky Blinders movie is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of the series.
