In an unexpected yet delightful twist, NSYNC’s iconic hit “Bye Bye Bye” has rocketed into the Top 20 on Spotify’s global chart, thanks to its featured role in the blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine. More than two decades after its original release, the track has captured the hearts of a new generation of listeners, propelled by the film’s unforgettable opening credits scene.

A Blast from the Past

The track, which “Dancepool” busts a highly choreographed move to in Deadpool & Wolverine’s opening credits, has soared up the music charts 24 years after its release. Currently, it sits at #13 on Spotify Global’s Top 50, boasting an impressive 3.827 million streams. This resurgence has delighted fans old and new, bringing a nostalgic tune back into the limelight.

Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool & Wolverine, couldn’t be happier with the song’s comeback. He took to X/Twitter to celebrate, resharing statistics about the song’s success and proudly declaring, “Our work here is done.” The resurgence of “Bye Bye Bye” is a testament to the film’s impact and the enduring appeal of the boyband classic.

NSYNC’s official YouTube channel has even renamed the video for the song to “Bye Bye Bye (Official Video from Deadpool and Wolverine),” reflecting its newfound fame. The viral dance clip from the movie features the Merc with a Mouth moving in sync to NSYNC, but the man behind the mask is actually dancer-choreographer Nick Pauley. He posted a video on Instagram, showing off his routine and thanking Ryan Reynolds for believing in him to play Dancepool in the MCU movie.

Soundtrack Success

The Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack, now available on vinyl in various color configurations, includes NSYNC’s hit song alongside catchy tunes from The Goo Goo Dolls, Huey Lewis & The News, and more. This diverse collection has captivated fans and contributed to the movie’s musical success.

Deadpool & Wolverine has not only boosted NSYNC’s chart success but has also made a massive splash at the box office. The film grossed $211 million domestically, making it the sixth-biggest domestic opening of all time, and bringing its global gross to an astounding $444.3 million. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest installment has proven to be a record-breaking hit, much like its musical accompaniment.
