Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios have announced the exciting news that Dave Bautista and Eric Nam will headline the voice cast for the new animated film titled “Aang: The Last Airbender.” The announcement was made during Paramount’s presentation at CinemaCon.
Dave Bautista is set to voice a villain in the film, adding a thrilling dynamic to the cast. Alongside him, Eric Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and Roman Zaragoza will also lend their voices to bring the beloved characters of the “Avatar” universe to life. Details about their specific roles and the plot remain tightly under wraps.


Lauren Montgomery, a veteran of the original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series, is at the helm as director, ensuring the new project remains true to its roots. Series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are on board as executive producers, alongside Eric Coleman, with William Mata co-directing.
This film marks the beginning of the much-anticipated standalone “Avatar” film series, with its release scheduled for October 10, 2025. The original “Avatar” animated series, which aired from 2005 to 2008, followed by “The Legend of Korra” from 2012 to 2014, captivated audiences with the epic adventures of Aang and his friends.
Paramount’s slate at CinemaCon also included major announcements for other animated projects, including a new “Smurfs” movie voiced by Rihanna and the return of the original “Spongebob Squarepants” cast for another movie adventure, signaling a robust lineup of animated films from the studio.
