Nintendo’s recent Direct presentation centered on its publishing and development partners. Here are the top three reveals.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble
Sega announced Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble for Nintendo Switch, set to release on June 25, 2024. The game features over 200 new levels and introduces a spin dash move for players to overcome obstacles and create shortcuts. Motion controls are optional, and traditional controls are also available. The game offers four-player local co-op and 16-player online multiplayer, with various game modes including Race Mode, Banana Hunt, Robot Smash, and more.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection
The Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is set to be released on March 14, available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series, and PC via Steam. This collection includes the two original games with new maps, characters, and more. Aspyr, the publisher, has announced that new characters like Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress will be added, along with Jabba’s Palace as one of the new maps. Players can relive intense battles from the Star Wars galaxy, choosing from a variety of classes, piloting vehicles, and playing as iconic heroes and villains in different eras of the saga, available for solo, local, and online play. Additionally, Battlefront 2 will receive Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel, and Yavin 4: Arena.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed
A faithful remake of the beloved classic game “Disney Epic Mickey” is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch this year. The enhanced remake promises updated graphics and improvements, along with new skills and abilities for Mickey Mouse. The game is set in Wasteland, a world inspired by Disney classic stories, and invites players to join Mickey Mouse on a colorful adventure in this action-adventure 3D platformer.
