Here are the biggest announcements from January’s PlayStation State of Play
The January PlayStation State of Play event brought about some exciting announcements that have left gaming enthusiasts buzzing with anticipation.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Kojima Productions released a long trailer for the game Death Stranding 2, now named Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The main character, Sam Porter Bridges played by Norman Reedus, is back and seems to be up against a new group called Drawbridge. The game will feature Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, Troy Baker, and others.
Until Dawn
Rebuilt and enhanced for PS5 consoles and PC, Until Dawn offers an invitation to relive a nightmare and immerse oneself in a gripping slasher horror experience where every decision can determine life or death. This title is set to release on PS5 and PC in 2024.
Judas
JUDAS is the upcoming game from Ken Levine, the creator of BioShock. The game was featured in a full trailer during the recent State of Play event. It appears to be a vibrant, dystopian game with first-person combat, reminiscent of Levine’s earlier work.
Silent Hill: The Short Message
Anita receives a message from her friend Maya and ends up in a deteriorating apartment building known for stories of suicides. As she explores, she encounters surreal, supernatural areas inhabited by a distorted monster. With Maya’s instruction to not leave until she discovers something, Anita’s quest unveils a modern Silent Hill experience, utilizing cutting-edge game technology and available as a free-to-play exclusive for PlayStation 5.
Silent Hill 2
The latest Silent Hill 2 trailer reveals new gameplay footage and showcases the improved and modernized combat. The protagonist, James, receives a letter from his deceased wife and journeys to Silent Hill, hoping to see her once more. There, by the lake, he encounters a woman named Maria, who eerily resembles his wife. The game offers a master-class in psychological survival horror, praised as the best in the series, with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.
