In a surprising turn of events, Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘The Mandalorian’, has reportedly withdrawn from ‘Weapons’, an anticipated horror film directed by Zach Kregger, known for ‘Barbarian’. This news was first reported by Jeff Sneider, a respected entertainment journalist.

The decision stems from a scheduling clash. ‘Fantastic Four’s production, which Pascal is rumored to be joining as Reed Richards, has been delayed to the latter half of 2024. Although Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed Pascal’s casting, multiple entertainment industry sources have been speculating about his role for weeks.

‘Weapons’, described as “a multi and inter-related story horror epic” and likened to Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Magnolia’, remains shrouded in mystery. Pascal’s involvement had added a significant buzz around the project.

Pascal’s exit from ‘Weapons’ highlights the complexities of managing schedules for high-demand actors. He is already committed to shooting the second season of ‘The Last of Us’ starting next month. Initially, ‘Fantastic Four’ was slated for a late spring production, which would have accommodated ‘Weapons’. However, the delay to late 2024 made this unfeasible.
