Ashley Johnson and Six Women File Lawsuit Against Brian W. Foster Alleging Abuse

Actress Ashley Johnson, alongside six other women, including two Critical Role employees, has initiated a civil lawsuit against Brian W. Foster in Los Angeles, accusing him of multiple charges, including domestic violence, emotional distress, sexual battery, assault, and stalking. The lawsuit details several concerning incidents, some already mentioned in a prior restraining order filed by Johnson. Among the accusations, Foster allegedly made inappropriate comments to Johnson’s sister under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and had physical misconduct incidents at events in Chicago and Austin. Another plaintiff, a Critical Role employee, alleged unreported advances by Foster in 2019 and 2021 due to fear of retaliation. Critical Role expressed deep concern over the revelations, stating their commitment to supporting affected employees and enhancing workplace culture. Previously in 2023, Johnson had sought a restraining order against Foster, citing serious concerns for her safety. The lawsuit now pushes for damages, punitive actions, and a mandate for Foster to maintain distance from Johnson and her family. Johnson, notable for her voice acting roles and co-founding Critical Role, previously tried getting a protective order against Foster, who was removed from Critical Role’s content in 2021. Foster has denied the accusations. Bryan Freedman, representing the plaintiffs, emphasized the seriousness of the claims and Foster’s alleged pattern of abuse.
