Tim Burton to Prioritize In-Camera Effects for Upcoming “Beetlejuice 2”

Cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos recently confirmed that Tim Burton plans to prioritize in-camera special effects for the highly-anticipated sequel, “Beetlejuice 2.” While visual effects have come a long way since the original Beetlejuice film, Burton aims to capture the magic and authenticity of performances with practical techniques, much like in his previous works. According to Zambarloukos, in-camera effects elicit more genuine reactions from both actors and audiences, emphasizing the importance of authenticity over digital manipulation. Burton echoed these sentiments, sharing that for “Beetlejuice 2,” he’s going back to the basics of working with a talented cast and practical effects, although a release date for the sequel has not yet been announced.
