Ubisoft Confirms Development of ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division 3’ Under Massive Entertainment and Executive Producer Julian Gerighty

Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 is in development at Massive Entertainment, the Swedish studio that developed the first two games in the series. Julian Gerighty, creative director for Star Wars Outlaws, has been appointed as the executive producer for The Division franchise, overseeing its various elements including development, operations, and creative vision. The franchise, with nearly 40 million players across all titles, will also see Gerighty coordinating with teams developing other Division titles like Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence and Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland. Ubisoft’s announcement affirms the company’s commitment to the long-term success of the brand.

Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro confirmed that he was once slated to direct an unproduced Star Wars film, a revelation first made by writer David Goyer in an interview. Goyer, known for works like The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel, stated that the project was in the works about four years ago. He also mentioned that the film would have focused on the crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Del Toro corroborated the information on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy mentioned that many Star Wars projects have not been officially shelved, leaving the possibility open for future development.

These cards will form a full art scene when placed together in a grid. The company will also release Special Edition Collector Boosters containing 60s rock poster art treatments of past Lord of the Rings cards. Game Architect Mike Turian explained that these new releases offer more design freedom and aim to appeal to Magic’s Commander players. Art Director Sarah Wassell elaborated on the significance of incorporating rock poster art, citing its roots in the 1960s counter-culture movement.

FTC Announces $245 Million Refund Pool for Fortnite In-Game Purchases After Settlement with Epic Games

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is notifying consumers that they may be eligible for refunds related to in-game purchases in Fortnite. The FTC has a $245 million settlement fund with Epic Games, the game’s developer, who was accused of using design elements to encourage unintended in-game purchases. The settlement includes individuals charged for in-game currency between January 2017 and September 2022, as well as those who disputed such charges and had their accounts locked. Epic Games has agreed to a total settlement of $520 million, including a $275 million penalty for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Rule. All refund claims must be submitted by January 17, 2024.
