In a recent chat with Famitsu, Todd Howard, the development chief at Bethesda, announced that ‘Starfield’ will officially support mods in 2024. While the exact release date is yet to be declared, it’s speculated that the support will be facilitated through the Creation Kit, which was previously integrated into games like Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

“Mod support will be available next year, and we’re fully committed to it.”

Despite the lack of official mod support to date, players have showcased their creativity with a variety of ingenious and practical modifications for the space epic game. These include DLSS Support and a field of view slider, which were player additions after the game’s launch. Notably, an improved inventory management system was introduced through mods, and even the challenge of deactivated achievements due to unofficial mods was cleverly overridden by modders.
