Villeneuve Wants to Make a Dune Trilogy

Director Denis Villeneuve is interested in turning “Dune” into a trilogy, as confirmed in an interview with Empire Magazine. He has discussed adapting the novel “Dune Messiah” into a third film. Villeneuve’s “Dune” films aim to depict Paul Atreides’ journey and the consequences of his actions, deviating from the perception of him as a traditional hero.

In addition to the films, there is an upcoming series called “Dune: The Sisterhood” in development. However, Villeneuve believes that after a potential third film, the story becomes more esoteric. The release of “Dune: Part Two” has been delayed due to ongoing strikes in the industry.
