SPOILERS

The finale of Secret Invasion left viewers with mixed feelings as it wrapped up the season with some answers while leaving other important questions unanswered. In this episode, we witness the culmination of the conflict between G’iah and Gravik, and the revelation of Rhodey’s true identity, which brings both satisfaction and disappointment to the audience.

The episode starts with a cold conversation between Fury and Vara, setting the stage for the intense action to come. The trap set by Fury leads to a face-off between Gravik and Fury, but unfortunately, the confrontation feels lackluster, and Gravik’s character is portrayed as a weak and easily defeated villain. This anticlimactic ending to Gravic’s arc undermines the tension that was built up throughout the season.

On the positive side, Gravik’s impassioned speech about being used as a soldier and his emotional connection with Fury adds depth to their relationship. However, some emotional payoffs are lost due to the revelation of Gaia’s true identity. It diminishes the impact of Fury’s words and leaves viewers feeling confused about Fury’s character development.

One of the major disappointments is the lack of clarity regarding why Fury couldn’t fulfill his promise to find a home for the Skrulls. The explanation provided by Fake Fury in the episode feels insufficient, and it remains a significant unanswered question, leaving a void in the storyline.

Despite these flaws, the episode still manages to deliver some engaging action sequences, particularly during the Secret Service mission. The scenes of Rhodey trying to protect the President are intense and gripping, providing some thrilling moments amidst the narrative’s shortcomings.

Secret Invasion’s finale leaves much to be desired. The lack of a satisfying resolution to Gravik’s storyline and the unanswered questions about Fury’s promise to the Skrulls are major drawbacks. While the emotional moments between Fury and Gravik add depth to the characters, they are overshadowed by the revelation of Gaia’s true identity. The episode falls short of its potential, and viewers may be left feeling somewhat disappointed after reaching the end of the season.
