After seven months of console exclusivity on Xbox, the uproarious comedy shooter “High on Life” has finally made its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, much to the delight of eager fans. The surprise announcement came during the San Diego Comic-Con 2023, courtesy of developer Squanch Games.

“The fans have spoken. And spoken. And spoken,” exclaimed Mike Fridley, the studio director at Squanch Games. “We’ve been thrilled with High On Life’s reception since it launched in December. Our PlayStation fans have been slightly less thrilled, which is why we’re so excited to share that it’s coming their way very soon. Like now soon! Thank you for your patience!”

Despite its success, “High on Life” has not rested on its laurels. Squanch Games recently unveiled exciting news about the first DLC update titled “High on Knife.” This new expansion introduces a fresh talking gun character named Harper, whose voice is provided by the talented Sarah Sherman from “Saturday Night Live.” Additionally, players can look forward to confronting a goopy and formidable new boss named Mux, voiced by the renowned actress Gabourey Sidibe, known for her roles in “Precious” and “American Horror Story.”

However, it’s worth noting that the original voice actor for Kenny, the gun character, Justin Roiland, has parted ways with the studio after facing since-dropped domestic violence allegations. As a result, Kenny won’t be present in the upcoming “High on Knife” DLC.

The DLC is set to launch this fall, and the excitement is palpable as it will be available not only on PlayStation but also on PC and Xbox platforms, allowing even more players to immerse themselves in this outrageous and hilarious universe.

“High on Life” has carved out a special place for itself in the hearts of gamers, delivering endless laughs and thrills since its initial release. Its journey from Xbox exclusivity to PlayStation availability marks a significant milestone for Squanch Games and showcases the game’s widespread appeal. With the upcoming “High on Knife” DLC adding more zany adventures and eccentric characters, the future looks brighter than ever for this side-splitting comedy shooter.
