Microsoft has announced that it will increase the price of Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions in most countries, with the changes set to come into effect over the next few months. Here’s what you need to know:

Xbox Series X Price Increase:

  • The price of the Xbox Series X will increase in most countries on August 1, except in the United States, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia.

Xbox Game Pass Price Increase:

  • Xbox Game Pass for Console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be impacted by the changes first. Prices are set to rise for new customers on July 6, but existing monthly subscribers won’t see the changes until August 13 (September 13 in Germany).
  • The standard version of Xbox Game Pass will jump from $9.99 to $10.99, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will jump from $14.99 to $16.99.
  • Xbox Game Pass for PC will be unaffected.

Microsoft has stated that it adjusted the prices to reflect the competitive conditions in each market. While the price hikes may be disappointing for some gamers, it’s worth noting that Xbox Game Pass still offers great value for access to a large library of games.

Overall, the price increases for Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions will impact most countries, but the changes will be rolled out gradually over the next few months.
