After a slow start and a lock of players throughout 2020, Minecraft Earth has announced its closure. The mobile game allowed players to gather with friends in the real world and build augmented reality structures with found blocks. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced everyone to stay home and avoid public gatherings. Minecraft states the game will end in June 2021.

Minecraft Earth has one last update releasing on Jan. 5th. This update removes all cash purchasing options. They reduce “ruby” costs and decreasing all time-gated features. The planned features and DLC’s are all releasing at once. Giving a glimpse of what was to come. Boosts and unused crafting are being replaced by radius boosts of the same level.

If you are a fan of Minecraft Earth, this is unfortunate news. But, they want to make sure the last few months are fun for the ME community.
