Wait what!? That’s right, Jamie Foxx’s Electro will be joining the next MCU Spider-man. This Electro is from Amazing Spider-man 2, a completely different universe from Tom Holland’s Spider-man. Many (including myself) feel like this film was generally bad and had terrible villains. So what would bringing back Electro mean for the current Spidey? First, this has been done already with J. Jonah Jameson. He is played by J.K. Simmons who played the newshound from the Toby McGuire run. This version of Jameson was slightly tweaked being changed from a newspaper editor to a Web “news” host shouting into a camera. We could see something similar to this with Foxx’s Electro. Possible a more toned-down version or one that fits into the MCU’s universe. The other big take away is Spider-Man 3 is likely a multiverse based film. MCU’s next shift will be into the Multiverse with Wandavision and Dr. Strange 2. This means we could see Garfield and McGuire join the film for some Spiderverse fun. Either way, the next film will be making some big swings and should at least be interesting to watch.
